X 6.2.3 - Preview not loading, can't edit pages

Heya! Random thing happened out of nowhere. No new plugins installed, no site changes, checked server logs, no file modifications, etc. X 6.2.3 no longer displays a preview when attempting to edit a page, and I’m unable to add any new elements or duplicate existing elements. Here’s what I’m seeing in the console. Site is n29capitalpartners.com.

This site appears to use a scroll-linked positioning effect. This may not work well with asynchronous panning; see https://developer.mozilla.org/docs/Mozilla/Performance/ScrollLinkedEffects for further details and to join the discussion on related tools and features! x

I’ve tried disabling plugins, I’ve tried clearing both site and server-sided caching, no joy here. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Hello There,

Thanks for posting in! I can see that you are using X 6.2.3 with an older version of Cornerstone which is only 2.0.1. Please update Cornerstone to the latest versions. Cornerstone 3.2.3 is now available in automatic updates! This release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (https://theme.co/changelog/).

And since you have installed a caching plugin WP Super Cache, please clear your plugin cache after the update before testing your site. This can cause the changes to not take place on the front end. It will eventually show up when the cache regenerates, but it’s not ideal if you’re looking to see your changes immediately.

Please let us know how it goes.

I’ve gone ahead and updated both the theme and cornerstone. X is now on 6.2.4, Cornerstone is now on 3.2.4. Trying to enable cornerstone here gives the following error.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare cornerstone_plugin_init() (previously declared in /HOMEDIR/public_html/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone-5LRUZK/cornerstone.php:20) in /HOMEDIR/public_html/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/cornerstone.php on line 21

Have disabled WP Super Cache and deleted any cache files I could find. Still picking up the same error. Attempting to edit the page via X causes the same issue - stuck in skeleton view and can’t add/modify/duplicate any items. Thoughts?

Hi There,

It looks like you have 2 instances of Cornerstone installed on your site now. Please navigate to your Plugins dashboard and delete both.

Then navigate to X panel and wait for a few seconds, X will automatically reinstall a fresh and compatible copy of Cornerstone.

Then clear all your caching plugins/features.

Hope it helps,
Cheers!
