WPML problem

Hi guys,
I have a trouble with WPML and Cornestone that is going to make me crazy.
In this moment I have 4 language, one page for each language of course.
The problem is when I change one page, sometimes is changed also other page in different language. Random!
I have try to understand what is the problem and fix a rule but I’m not able.

Pls, can you help me? Do you know similar problem like mine?

Pls, try to create new page for different language and change them later. This problem is “random” but it is very annoying…

Hi there,

That tests page has no translation.

Have you tried duplicating it and translate it independently? By clicking the Duplica checkbox and hitting the button, it will create a dedicated page for that language. Then edit the duplicate and hit Translate Independently button.

I dont see any “translate independently button”.
When I create a page clikking in a new flag appears:

“This Content does not have a Francese translation. Start with a blank slate or choose an existing translation to begin with.” And there are two buttons: one for balnk and anotherone for copy from other existing page.

Usually I make a copy from existing page and modify it in new language.

is it correct?

Hello,
I’m using X theme Version 5.2.5 (not Pro) and the latest WP Version 4.9.4 and have the following WPML plugins installed:

Since day 1 I’ve had problems with WPML. It took 3 months last year and a release before they could provide a fix to a bug I discovered (Element within Element not showing under Translations). Now re-launching and re-translating the website. The issues are back and the vast majority of all the elements from the EN default pages are not showing.

I too have the Translation Management for strings, which I don’t really need. Actually, I prefer to create dedicated pages, so I was extremely interested in @Rad’s post above. Video is simple to follow, but does the “Duplicate” work on the individual pages?

I have tried solving this issue over the past 2 days, so wanted to double check before I proceed.

The link & video submitted by @paul.r is not working and the WPML Support is very slow to react.

Hi there,

It does work on pages that don’t have page translation. It’s not for standard duplication, any duplicate will link back to its language counterpart. You should try that

It duplicates the page, but some content may not especially the v2 elements. But still, it will allow you edit your page individually.

Thanks for your reply.
I have made progress since Thursday and the errors are no longer showing.

HOWEVER… The new Elements introduced in November (I think) are not showing on the Translation pages. Example: German Homepage: http://managetopia.apps-1and1.net/de/
I really do not want to go back and change to the Classic Elements, surely there has to be a solution?

Any suggestions as to how this can be resolved and how other clients have resolved the same issue?

Are you still using the translation management? Or our recommendation by duplicating the page?
