WPML or Polylang

Hi Friends!
I have a site that will be in 3 languages, Spanish, English and Chinese.
I have never used WPML with Pro, but i was naturally inclined to prefer it over Polylang. Before choosing it right away i wanted to know from your perspective, considering your support, which one should i choose? Should i stick with WPML?

Thank you very much in advanced!
Best regards,
Sebastian

Hey Sebastian,

Our builders only support WPML. That means there are features connected to WPML.

With regards to support, we can help with the features of our builders connected to WPML. We do not provide support for WPML itself. That is handled by WPML support.

Hope that helps.

Hi all,

We are using PRO and WPML for a site also in English, Spanish, Chinese, and also Portuguese. However, after translating all pages into Spanish with the WPML editor I went to check on the pages and all I can see is an empty page. You said PRO is compatible with WPML, but this issue is making me wonder if it really is since our blog which is built on Elementor doesn’t have the same problem.

Hey Alyssa,

Yes, X/Pro is compatible with WPML. If you’re using ALL Classic elements, please see the links below.

If you’re using NON-Classic elements, you need to translate the content manually using the Translation Flags available in the Header, Content and Footer builders. For more details, please see https://theme.co/docs/wpml

If you have other issues with our theme and WPML, please open a separate thread so you could share information privately with us.

Thanks.

Hi Christian,
Thanks for your help! We went through the documentation you shared and found couple of discrepancies between the interfaces showed in the documents and videos and our interface. For instance, when we click on the new language flag the dialog mentioned in here https://wpml.org/theme/x/ does not pop up, instead, we are taken to the Spanish page, which looks empty. The option to create a translated page is given to us in the dashboard of the page as shown in the screenshot I am attaching. The pencil indicates that the translation in that language has been already created. However, when I go to the Spanish pages, the pages are empty. I also went through this https://theme.co/docs/wpml and the Multilingual Content Setup option shown in the video does not exist in our dashboard.
Lastly, I wanted to create a separate thread, but couldn’t find how. Can you please indicate me how can a start it?
Thanks!

Hi Alyssa,

What’s mentioned and shown here are for older versions https://wpml.org/theme/x/ only. Even WPML itself uses its own old WPML plugin on that one. I think the Multilingual Content Setup was also changed since that version, and maybe you’re missing a plugin that came along with the WPML plugin. Let’s check that from your thread with your provided URL and admin login credentials, make sure the credentials are added in the secure note to make it private.

The important part of this is a manual translation (not any translation, like string and advanced translation) else, it will not work, then you can either use the mentioned dialog or by clicking those + icons.

As for creating new thread, please go to forum https://theme.co/forum, select Support, and new topic button.

Thanks!
