WPML Multidomain still not working with PRO - when is this getting fixed?

Hey guys,

for the first time in many years I am feeling totally lost with the Themeco support. As already reported in other posts PRO is not properly working with WPML Multidomain anymore. And has not done so since February 21.

Previewing and editing pages in a multidomain language set-up does not work.
All questions regarding getting this fixed have run into a dead end. And the suggested workaround to revert to a 3.X version of PRO does not make any sense since the site then gets screwed up because we have used PRO 4 features in it.

Our project gets crippled by this and I really would appreciate getting help and a solution here asap.

Please advise and update on this! Thx!

Hey @l_eckardt,

Regretfully, there is no viable way to support WPML Multidomain in Pro 4+ because the new rendering system has a problem with the user session not being respected in this setup.

We’re very sorry if this caused a problem in your project but there is nothing we could do for this case. The new rendering system has a lot of advantages that we can’t go back to the old version 3 rendering system where the WPML Multidomain setup worked. If you haven’t done this yet, I’d recommend that you test updates in a staging copy of your site next time so you’ll have time to deal with update conflicts while your live site is not affected.

The only solution for this is to change to the WPML Sub-directory setup.

Thank you for understanding.

Thanks for your explanation. Truely frustrating in my case…

If it is the renderer that causes the issues, how about using WP Bakery in combination with Pro.
Would that solve the issue? Because the only real problem is that I can not edit pages with the Pro Editor.

Thanks for checking and getting back to me.

Hi @l_eckardt,

Currently, this is not possible with the Pro. But you can try with the WP Bakery as that does not use the preview-based content building like Pro. You can use the combination of WP Bakery and Pro, where WP Bakery will be used as the backend builder.

Thanks
