WPML Activate Translation Editor gives X Pro error

Hi there

Following your advice I am now using WPML (instead of Polylang).

I have 2 problems I would need your help with:

In my dashboard I see a X Pro comment that states “Nog één stap voordat u kunt vertalen X Theme
U dient de Vertaaleditor van WPML in te schakelen om succesvol te kunnen vertalen.”

Translation is:
One step to go before you can translate X Theme. You need to activate the translation editor of WPML to translate succesfully.

So… Every time I press the button I get this error:

This handling is not allowed.

What does it mean and how do I change this?

It appears that in my settings my standard language i set to Dutch which is correct.

But when I use string translation for the domain woocommerce it says original language is english and translation can only be done to Dutch. But the strings are already in Dutch and need translation to English.

How can I achieve this?

And does it maybe have something to do with my question 1?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi @Woordenaar,

Thanks for reaching out.

  1. I think it’s a separate addon of WPML, I recommend contacting the WPML plugin author.

  2. I think Woocommerce always default to English (as the same as pot files of other plugins) and you’ll still need to translate it into Dutch. Having a default language will not automatically translate the strings that came with the plugin. Hence, please translate Woocommrce strings to Dutch.

Thanks!
