WP Gutenberg Update

Hi Guys,
Just a quick question about the pending WordPress update to 5.0. Do you anticipate any problems with the Pro and X themes? I know there are bound to be bugs. I am currently in a webinar, and the guy is basically saying everything is going to break. Themes, plugin, content, everything! Yeah, this is a real bummer.

Any reassurance would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Nancy,

There’s no news nor discussion regarding anticipated problems moreover that there is still no release date for WP 5.0 release. I ran my personal test though and there’s no issue with Gutenberg active except the fact the it changes the post editor interface and you can’t switch to Cornerstone from there so you need to use the “Edit with Pro” link from the list of pages or the admin bar. The builders work fine. Nothing is broken in the front-end.

Just note that this is not a reassurance. We will only know what will happen once WP 5 is released.

Thanks Christian. I know you and your team are all over this stuff. The webinar made it sound like it was gong to be a real nightmare. But the speaker also mentioned that he had over 10 years of blog posts. So I get it.

I got to thinking about it later, after I sent you this message, and realized that it probably only affects content placed into the WP editor. I’ve used Cornerstone and it’s functionality, so all should be well.

Thanks again for your reply, and I understand that we won’t know for sure how things are going to act until WP 5.0 is live.
