WP Cost Estimation & Payment Forms Builder doesn't work

Hi there,

On my website (wijzer.nu) I created a form with the WP Cost Estimation & Payment Forms Builder plugin. The form has worked for a very long time and suddenly it doesn’t send anything anymore. I can’t find the problem.

Can you help me?

Hi Vink,

Thanks for reaching out.

May I know where the form is? All I can see is Contact Form 7. For the meantime, you could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Let us know how it goes!

Hello Rad, this is an URL we use:

At the end of the form (click send), the form wil not send at all. A green dot keeps pulsing for minutes and nothing happens.

NOTE: we also discovered that all previous filled forms (‘orders’) are not available anymore. There we also get a pulsing dot. Looks like the plugin cannot communicate with the database anymore… (?)

Hey Vink,

WP Cost E&P Forms plugin uses WordPress’ admin-ajax.php. If that is affected by third-party factors, it will stop the plugin from working.

Right now, when you submit a form, this error displays in the console. Notice that admin-ajax.php could not be found on your site. This could be a result of incomplete backup restoration or anything that could delete files in your WordPress setup. None of our products could do that though.

Please try reinstalling WordPress by going to Dashboard > Updates and click the Reinstall Now button. If you don’t see the button, update WordPress first.

If the admin-ajax.php file is present in your server, please ask your web host why it returned as 404.

Thanks.

I have re-installed WordPress but no luck. I will contact my web host.

Thank you for your cooperation, Vink. I’d like to add that if it’s not the web host blocking access to admin-ajax.php, it could be some rule in your htaccess file so also try resetting your .htaccess file in the root of your WordPress install by renaming it to .htaccess-backup. Then in WP Admin Menu, go to Settings > Permalinks and just click the Save Changes button.

A new .htaccess was created successfully as you described but still no luck.

What else can help?

Hey Vink,

I see. In this case, please check with your web host what is blocking the admin-ajax. It could be incorrect WordPress files and folders permissions.

If possible, I’d also recommend, setting up a fresh WordPress install in another web host and install a fresh copy of X/Cornerstone or Pro and WP Cost Estimation & Payment Forms there. Then, export your forms and import them on the test site.

If the issue would persist in the test site, please give us WordPress Admin and FTP access to the test site so we could investigate. We can’t do this in your live site as there’s a risk of breaking your site. Moreover, testing in a fresh WordPress install with our theme and the E&P Forms plugin only eliminates other factors such as plugin conflict and server configuration.

Thanks.

I have contacted my host and they modified the latest mod_security configuration. That worked. Never heard of this configuration but it prevented the form from sending data. Glad that it works now. Thanks for your help.

You’re always welcome Vink!

Glad @christian_y was able to help you here. Cheers!
