Working successfully with 3rd Party Plugins

Hi

I have recently tried to use a third party plugin with Theme X and I am getting very poor rendering of the pages built into the plugin. I have contacted the plugin developer and they told me that the theme is responsible for the appearance so they can’t do anything about it. What options do I have in terms of changing the appearance of the page? Here is an example of what it looks like when I use a shortcode from the plugin:

And it looks like this on other themes:

Is my only option to use custom CSS? Or is there something simpler I can do within the theme settings? Thanks

Thank you for writing in, but what is the name of the said plugin? And it’s not true the theme is responsible for the appearance, maybe with common elements like buttons and inputs, but not the appearance of a 3rd party plugin page.

And provide us login credentials on a secure note as it seems we need to login before we can see that page on your screenshot.

We will see what we can do, but if none since this is a 3rd party plugin, then you need to do it with a custom CSS.

Ok that’s good to know - the plugin is an extension of ‘Easy Digital Downloads’ called EDD Frontend Submissions. It is also a premium plugin/extension.

Hi Jamie,

Thanks for the info, I did a quick check and yes this is something we can not help of. You can edit the Vendor Dashboard page in Cornerstone’s Content builder like a normal page, and insert [fes_vendor_dashboard] shortcode where you see it fits on the page. However, anything that shortcode renders is not customizable in Cornerstone’s Content builder, you need to configure it in the plugin itself (if there is a configuration for it) or via Custom CSS.
