Wordpress Youtube Element and Learndash Videos Not Loading In Newest Update

Today we noticed that vimeo videos we have for Course Progression in LearnDash and YouTube Videos we embed in Blog Posts using the native WordPress builder are not loading the video content. If we embed the video, however, it will work just fine.

We ran a plugin conflict test: no conflicts.

We deactivated Pro and the videos started displaying again when added via the link only. That tells me it’s a Theme issue. We downgraded the from Pro 6.4.9 to 6.3.9 and it’s still an issue.

We have a Single Post Layout for all posts which might be where Pro is causing the conflict with the native YouTube Link Embed. I don’t think we have anything set up for LearnDash, however.

We’d love to know if this is a wider problem before we go through 200 pages and embed Vimeo/Youtube videos to keep the site up. I’ll add logins in a secure note.

Thank you in advance,

Hello @RookDigital,

Thanks for writing in! Do you have a staging area? Please create a staging site and then update the Pro theme to the 6.4.9 version. You may provide with us your WP Staging Access so that we can investigate the issue further.

Best Regards.

As 6.4.9 and 6.3.9 both seem to have the same issue, I just updated my theme back to 6.4.9 for your review.

I do not use staging sites as I host on SiteGround and my experience is that X Theme and SiteGround Staging don’t really play well together. If that has changed, let me know and I will set that up for you.

We did go through most of our LearnDash courses and updated the videos to be embedded in Cornerstone, so those work, but they auto-embed links from YouTube and Vimeo still don’t work there or in the native WordPress post editor block.

Hello @RookDigital,

I tried to embed the YouTube video using the Gutenberg editor with the Youtube link and it worked fine on my end. I have tested it on Pro 6.4.9 and WordPress version 6.4.2. I would suggest you please clone your live site to the staging server and share the login details so that we can check it on our end.

Thanks
