Wordpress Portfolio gone after Cornerstone 5.1.1 update

After I update Cornerstone from v5.0.1.1 to v5.1.1 I loose my whole Portfolio feature from Wordpress and subsequently all portfolios throughout my site. When I restore (long live Updraft :-)) to before the Cornerstone update my Portfolio are back again and working.

Of course this may be caused by a plugin conflict, but how to find this and resolve it. I cannot be stuck with the v5.0.1.1 Cornerstone forever.

Your assistance & support is greatly appreciated.

Martin

Hi Martin,

I’m sorry about that. We added a toggle that lets users disable the portfolio which was intended to be on by default so it didn’t change for existing sites. Regretfully it was only staying on if Theme Options have been saved after updating.

After updating to X 5.1.1 you can find the toggle in Theme Options and just make sure it’s enabled. Otherwise just wait for 5.1.2 and you’ll be able to update safely without anything changing.

I’ll take the safe route and wait for the 5.1.2 update

thanks,
Martin

Sounds good Martin. We got that release live yesterday so you can update now and the issue will be resolved.

I just updated to 5.1.5 and the Portfolio now remains ok - thanks.
But … I now notice that our login page and several forms show up strangely, like https://www.newchannel.nl/login/ and https://www.newchannel.nl/contact-2/.
This was not the case befor the update. Please let me know if there is an easy fix before I revert back from before the update.

thanks,
Martin

Hi Martin,

Could you try making sure X is updated as well. It looks like you might be a couple versions behind. Sometimes if X and Cornerstone are out of sync there can be discrepancies.

After updating, if you still see an issue try clearing the style cache (X > Settings) and any caching you’re using on the site.

Updated to X v8.1.5 and Cornerstone is v5.1.5 - to my idea both the latest available, but the problem still remains. Check https://www.newchannel.nl/login/ for yourself.

Hello Martin,

The Gravity Form is missing some styling. Please check out this thread instead:

Best Regards.

I have no idea about your reply since (to my idea) I am not using Gravity Forms at all but another plugin (Formidable) for this. Secondly the login page does not even use any form, but is still impacted by the recent theme updates.

Hello Martin,

I am only replying to this:

Sorry for the confusion. I did not notice that Formidable form. You need to load the form styling by disabling the "Do not use CSS Grids for form layouts " in the plugin settings.

The login page is using the Ultimate Member shortcode inserted in a content area. Please add padding in your column settings or at least have some padding around your shortcode like this:

<div style="padding: 25px;">[ultimatemember form_id="898"]</div>

Kindly let us know how it goes.

This helped  I changed the Formidabel setting to always load form styling though and than added the padding

I don’t know why the X and Cornerstone updates mixed this up, but it now seems to work again.
thanks,
Martin
