Wordpress edit page 'this block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed', no link to pro

Hi X Theme
I have a problem with a site.
I added the function to remove the shortcode from the wordpress edit pages which your support team said was fixed in the new release - perhaps this has not been made available yet as when I remove the function the shortcode shows.

With most of my pages if I go to the edit page it show an edit with pro button, which is fine.

For one page I have this error ‘this block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed’.

I have tried converting it to a block and there is a mix of cs shortcode and text.

I have tried deleting all content and saving it, then editing in pro and restoring the page with a saved template. The same issue reoccurs.

There is no ‘edit with pro’ option from the edit page, I can only access it from the menu or pages list.

So it seems the page itself is corrupted in some way as it will not show the edit with pro option to left or anywhere on the page.

I cannot delete and replace the page as it would not have the same url.

What would you advise?

Tamsin

Hey Tamsin,

This is a known issue. The Essential Grid plugin is currently having a conflict with the Edit with Pro button. If you wish to open the builder using the button, you need to deactivate the Essential Grid plugin.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience. This has been reported and will be fixed in the next release.

This is causing quite a problem for me. Can you tell me how long it will take to be fixed? Is there any work around. I have several essential grid galleries so can’t just turn it off. Thanks

Hi Tamsin,

Regretfully, we don’t have any ETA for that currently. The only alternative solution is deactivating the Essential Grid plugin, for now.

Thanks

Hello again. I am finding that there are lots of errors and crashes happening on my site and every time if I turn off essential grid that solves it. I am using about 20 galleries created in essential grid though so can’t just turn it off. I am considering rebuilding those galleries in another plugin but it is a lot of work. I cannot seem to contact essential grid support as although I have the plugin through my pro theme I do not have a licence number. We can hold on like this for a bit but it is not ideal and not professional. What would you suggest please?

Hi Tamsin,

As my colleague says that the issue has been already reported, and regretfully you have to wait for the next release.

Thanks
