WordPress Dashboard Menu Disappeared

My first issue occurred when I tried to login to WordPress admin panel. I kept getting a 404 error. Troubleshooting this error led me to disabling each of my plugins until it worked. I pinpointed the plugin causing the error, but now that I am able to login to the admin page, the dashboard menu no longer shows up. Can you help walk me through this?

Thanks!

Hi @tanten,

Thanks for reaching out.

I recommend the following troubleshooting procedures before we investigate the settings.

  1. TESTING FOR THEME RELATED ISSUE
  2. TESTING FOR PLUGIN CONFLICT
  3. THEME UPDATE
  4. CHILD THEME
  5. CSS/JS CUSTOMIZATION
  6. VERSION COMPATIBILITY

Only if none of those help, please give us the following information in a Secure Note.

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin level username and password

You can find the Secure Note button at the bottom of your posts.

Thank you.

When I click the first link, I get an error. thefacme.co ’s server IP address could not be found.

Hi @tanten,

Sorry for the invalid link, I just updated it.

Thank you.

Hi @tanten,

I’ve checked your website and it seems your current user role is not an admin, if you want to see all the wordpress dashboard menus, you need to create a new user with an administrator role. Something like the image below.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

This is the same admin login I’ve been using all along. How could that have happened? So weird.

Hi Tangie,

Besides you, is their another user on your site with an Administrator role? Because it’s possible that your user role has changed to Editor.

Or this might have something to do with this JetPack feature.

Do you have a Wordpress.com account? Can you connect that to your site?

Thanks,
