WooCommerce Subscriptions in Checkout

Hi,

I’m furiously trying to get some changes pushed live from my development site so we can open registration for an event, but have run into a hiccup.

We are using woo commerce subscriptions. With subscriptions, you are required to create an account or login at checkout.

When I am NOT logged in and I have the subscription product in my cart and I go to checkout, my cursor is immediately put into the email field. I can type to my heart’s content here, but any time I try to click into another field, my cursor is immediately moved back into the email field…even if I’ve already entered a correct email address. This makes it so that I can’t checkout and complete my order. Note this only happening when I am not logged in (have tried in both normal and private browser).

Can you please have a look?

Thanks,
Ashley

Hello Ashley,

Thanks for writing in!

I am not logged in and I added a product to the to the cart. When I go to checkout page, I am seeing this:

I filled in my details until I reach the email. I insert my email and move my cursor to the next field with no issues at all.

You might be experiencing browser caching issues. Please clear your browser cache or use private browsing mode and test your checkout page again.

Kindly let us know how it goes.

I had tested the issue in both my normal browser and in private browsing mode over two days and it didn’t work in either.

So I’ve isolated it to Safari. It seems to work fine in Chrome. What are my next steps to get it resolved in Safari?

Hi Ashley,

Please ensure that your Safari is up to date. Make sure that there aren’t any Safari extensions that is causing it.
By the way, I have tested your site in a Safari browser and I could not replicate any issue.

Regards.

This doesn’t make any sense. I’m all updated with no safari plugins, and am having this issue across 2 devices in private browsing and regular browsing mode.

I’m not sure what to do?

Hi Ashley,

I have tested it as well and it works well on my test, I tried both logged in and out and there is no difference. It doesn’t lock to email field as your video. Could you try it on another device with Safari?

Perhaps it’s software related or something on your device.

Thanks!

It’s just so weird. I’ve tried on both my laptop and desktop and have the issue in both private and regular browsing modes. I tried on my husband’s laptop and it worked fine. I’m not sure what to do now.

Hi Ashley,

On your screencast, I notice that you have some kind of application/add-on (with key icon) that saves your email. Whatever what that is, would you mind deactivating that and see if that resolves the issue on your laptop and desktop.

Thanks,
