WooCommerce Square Conflicting with X 6.0.4

We’ve run into an issue processing payments on a customer site (https://futureconsiderations.ca) where Square cannot complete the transactions and just errors out.

We know it’s the theme now after turning off all plugins systematically and testing. When we revert to the WordPress default theme, the transactions go through just fine.

This did work just fine previously, but with the WooCommerce Square at v.1.0.29 (the latest) and X at 6.0.4 it will not work.

We need some assistance trouble shooting this if at all possible.

The error we get is:

[0] => stdClass Object
(
[category] => INVALID_REQUEST_ERROR
[code] => MISSING_REQUIRED_PARAMETER
[detail] => Missing required parameter.
[field] => card_nonce
)

Thanks,
Michael @ FBC

Hi Michael,

Thanks for reporting this issue, to allow our dev team to investigate this issue, could you please mention steps to reproduce this issue and whether it can be reproduced on the plugin free version or not?

Also, it would be helpful if you can share your WordPress Dashboard and FTP login details in a Secure Note.

Thanks.

Thanks Alaa.

Steps to go through would be as follows:

  1. Navigate to this page: https://futureconsiderations.ca/2018-nhl-draft-guide/
  2. Click the COMING SOON button to add the item to your cart.
  3. Complete the details and hit Submit to process the order. (I’ve made the item 1.99)
  4. It will return the error that we keep getting. ONLY when we switch themes will it actually process the order.

I’ll send along login details shortly as well for you.

Hello There,

Thanks for the very detailed response. I have followed the steps to replicate the issue. The problem is that I cannot proceed to number 3 and 4 because after I added the product in the cart, I encounter this JS error:

This could be coming from a JS script which you may have added in your site. Could you please test for a plugin conflict?You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time. Meanwhile, we will test the WooCommerce Square in our local testing server.

Let us know how it goes.

As I mentioned in my first message, we’ve already tested all plugins. It’ s theme conflict NOT a plugin conflict. I’ve proven that.

Also, you CAN proceed past the step you got to, as those won’t impede your ability to still go through to the checkout.

As it stands right now, we’ve had to switch over to PayPal and Stripe as our payment options since obviously Square is not working. And that, I guess, will end this ticket since you can now not help with any of that testing anyhow. Hopefully it gets resolved in a further update to either the Square plugin or with X updates.

Thanks,
Michael

Hello Michael,

Since we can no longer test this in your site, we will add this in our issue tracker so that our developers will be made aware of this issue and they maybe able to do some further investigation of what could have happen, whether it’s a bug or conflict with the theme itself.

Thank you for your understanding.
