Woocommerce single product image shrinking

Hello,
I’m putting together a shop & am having a slight issue with the image sizes on my single product pages.

They are being shrunken by either a white box ox padding from somewhere and I can’t find the source. I’d like the images to fill the space. Have tried every trick mentioned on these forums but i’m getting nowhere.

for example:

Product Page

Can you help?

Much appreciated.

Dave

Hey Dave,

May you have a good day!

Are you referring to this product image lightbox?

You seem to be using a 3rd party plugin that displays the lightbox. Please check the plugin settings of this lightbox plugin. There should be a setting to set the image size to display. I am not sure what is the name of the plugin that you are using. It is best that you contact the creators of the plugin for further assistance if possible.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hello Ruenel,

Thank you for getting back to me.

No… I’m not talking about the light box. I’m very happy with the light box. In fact your screen shot demonstrates perfectly, the image does not have an excessive white border or white padding surrounding it. That same image in the flex slider on the main product page is however tiny by comparison and surrounded by an excessive amount of white padding.

I’d like to not have all this white empty padding surrounding my main images in the woocommerce flex slider. Can you help?
Cheers
Dave

Hey Dave,

Try changing the image size in WP Admin > Customize > Woocommerce > Product Images then increase the Main Image Width setting.

Hope this helps.

Hi Jade,
That was the very 1st thing I tried. It had the effect of shrinking the actual image in the white box even more.

Hi Dave,

In that case, please provide us with the admin access to your site in a Secure Note:

Hi Jade,
Thank you for getting back to me again.
No offence, but judging by the level of ‘tech’ support in the answers above, i’d rather not be dishing out my admin details. I’d have thought someone who knew what they were doing might be able to see the issue in the code on the front end? (Inspect element perhaps?)
Thanks anyway.
Dave

Hello Dave,

I found out hat the whites paces were not coming from the site. It is coming from your image itself.

If you need to display the product a little bit bigger, you will need to edit your product image in an image editor like Photoshop and remove the white spaces around the product.

Regards.

Hello again,

I’d be very happy if the images looked like the one you’ve posted above. ie just a little white surround. Sadly they don’t look like that to me. They look like this:

. Are you just looking at them on a smaller screen? When I open them in the lightbox they’re fine. - They do not have acres of empty white space surrounding them, which makes me think that no - it’s not the images, it’s in the code somewhere. On the main single product image display a lot of my single product images are somehow being shrunken. Thank you anyway.

Hello @OZLIGHT,

I am on a medium desktop screen with 1920x1200 resolution. By the way, can you please disable the Site Accelerator since you have installed Jetpack plugin? This feature caches the images and it also cropped the images too. To learn more about this feature, please check this out:

Kindly let us know how it goes.

Hi Again,

Thanks again… I tried turning off the Site Accelerator & clearing the cache etc etc etc… It made no difference at all to the image displays. It may have just slowed my site down? As it’s no longer accelerating (Not sure I haven’t done a speed test LOL). But thanks for the stab.

What I have discovered is that the shrinking is being caused by a plugin called WZone which only effects the products I’ve imported from Amazon via that plugin (Though I still can’t figure out how or why). Now i’ve started importing products from other sources they’re all fine (& not shrunk at all). - I’m going to phase the Amazon stuff out, so it won’t be an issue in future (for me anyway). I did look at a number of other sites running this plugin & none of them have ‘shrunk’ images, so it must be a compatibility issue with X/Pro theme.

Thank you anyway for all the help.

Dave
