WooCommerce Session ID Issue / Potential Bug

Hi,

I’ve noticed an issue on my website where the wp_woocommerce_session_ID cookie has the same ID for every user, which I believe should be unique. While the value of the cookie differs for each user, the static ID is concerning.

For example: wp_woocommerce_session_b07661ba9f26a2d1923b6c1a66d12b50 — the ID b07661ba9f26a2d1923b6c1a66d12b50 remains the same for all users, though the value varies (changes).

To troubleshoot, I cloned my LIVE site, disabled all plugins on STAGING except WooCommerce, and confirmed caching was off with Kinsta support. The issue persists, which suggests a potential incompatibility between your theme and WooCommerce.

I’ve also observed the same issue on a competitor’s site using the Themeco “PRO” theme. (Checked with different browsers and VPN)

Hey Peter,

It looks like that’s how WooCommerce work. I did a fresh install using the default WordPress theme and Woocommerce and the session ID is the same for different users. I logged in and out.

Please try testing in staging using a different theme or the default WordPress theme. If the ID is the same, please contact WooCommerce support.
