Woocommerce Refund Failed, No Transaction ID!

Hi there, I’ve been using the X-theme bundled woocommerce, and I’ve been successfully receiving the payments from my shop into Paypal. But today I tried to refund a payment through wordpress by clicking on the completed order and I am getting this ERROR :

Refund Failed, No Transaction ID!

AND just checked on refunding for a separate order and getting THIS error message:

You do not have permissions to make this API call

I did a google search but pulled up nothing that worked to fix it and I’m not sure where the problem is, especially with the different error messages for two separate orders. Please advise, thanks!

Did you added your Paypal API credentials?

You can get those credentials from here: https://developer.paypal.com/webapps/developer/docs/classic/api/apiCredentials/#creating-an-api-signature

Hi Rue, thanks for this! I cannot find where to add the Paypal API. There’s an API tab under Woocommerce < Settings but it doesn’t have any places to add the API like the image screenshot above.

Can you tell me where this is?

It’s under WooCommerce > Settings > Checkout > PayPal. It you still encounter issues, it is best to contact WooCommerce support since this is not theme related.
