Woocommerce product category description

Hi,

I have three separate woocommerce stores built on X-Theme (1 site) and Pro (2 sites).

I have noticed that for the one built on X and one of the stores built on Pro, the Product Category Description is in a wysiwyg box which allows me to add html to that description.

However, in the case of the other store built on Pro, this same Product Category Description is just a plain text box - no opportunity to add html.

What is the difference? Is there a setting that I have missed?

All sites are on the latest version of WordPress, theme and plugins.

Kindest regards,

Doug

Hi There,

Thanks for writing in!

The category description is always a text box. I checked with a default theme as well as in X.
There is no editor for the description. I am not sure how you are getting the editor in category description X theme site.

Please check for a third party plugins in X site which may have the feature to add editor in the category description.

Let us know if you are looking for something different.

Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply.

That’s exactly where I was looking. Here is what I see on the sites with editor.

Your comments made me search deeper for evidence that it is added by a third party plugin, because I didn’t knowingly add such a plugin. However, I found that it has been added as a part of Yoast SEO Premium plugin. (Deactivating Yoast causes the editor to disappear and be replaced by the standard text box).

This is a great feature and would be a worthwhile addition to Themeco’s themes or Woocommerce core.

If Yoast has added it as a feature, it must be able to be added thru a hook, so I’ll investigate customising by adding the required action.

Many thanks again,

Doug

You’re most welcome, Doug.
