I’m designing a webpage with WordPress. I’m utilizing “WooCommerce”. I’ve also added the PlugIn: “WooCommerce Product Bundles”.
Problem: When I add a bundled product to the cart, I get a banner that says: “‘product’ has been added to your cart”. However, when I “view cart” I see that the bundled product has not been added. Individual products work fine.
I received this response from the “Product Bundles” people:
Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out to SomewhereWarm!
We’ve received reports for similar issues in the past and in those cases, the site was using AJAX Add to cart buttons on the single product page. By default, WooCommerce supports AJAX functionality for Add to Cart buttons in Shop Archives. Making AJAX-enabled add-to-cart buttons work correctly in single-product pages requires a bit more work – most themes that use AJAX Add to Cart buttons fail to post all form contents when these buttons are clicked. So this is probably the reason why Product Bundles are not added to the Cart as expected.
To confirm this, please switch your active theme back to a default WordPress theme, such as Twenty Seventeen or the WooCommerce compliant Storefront theme. Once you do this, add-to-cart buttons should work without issues.
To avoid causing any problems to your live site, the best way to do this would be to try setting up a staging site, for example using a plugin such as WP Staging or Duplicator – and then troubleshoot the issue on the staging site. Note that some hosts provide a Control Panel option for creating development/staging sites easily – if you are not sure about this, it might be worth asking your host as this is definitely the easiest and fastest way to do it. If the issue is resolved there, then it might be a good idea to bring this to the attention of your theme authors.
Keep in mind that most theme authors who advertize WooCommerce support are committed to fixing compatibility issues like this one – however, the only way to find out is by reaching out to them. In case they are not able to resolve this, then it is possible that they can disable AJAX functionality on specific pages.
Let me know what you find out!
Cheers,
How should I proceed?
Sincerely,
FL
I forgot to mention that along with WordPress, I’m also using X-Theme for my webpage creation.
Hi Frederick,
Thanks for reaching out.
It seems an issue related to the 3rd party plugin, and not related to our theme. In Product archive page AJAX Add to cart button works fine. The X theme is compatible with WooCommerce, but it doesn’t mean that it is compatible with all WooCommerce addons or related plugins. They are not tested with our themes.
Therefore, we can’t guarantee a fix but we’ll be interested to know why our theme is causing such issues you described if proven. To make sure that is our theme related issue, I would suggest you troubleshoot few common issues:
1.Theme Related Issue
2.Plugin Conflict
3.Theme Update related issue
4.Child Theme Related issue
Please let us know how the mentioned plugin works after activating any default theme like TwentyTwenty. If you find the issue still persists even after activating the default theme, please report that to the plugin author.
If none of the above helps, please copy your live site to a staging server so we could troubleshoot freely without breaking your live site.
And give us access in the secure note including:
– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password
