WooCommerce not showing items in cart

Hey guys,

I’ve been having issues with WooCommerce. Some users add items to cart, but when they go into the cart, the items either do not show, or they double up.

Using Theme X 6.3.8

WooCommerce 3.5.2

This was also happening in WooCommerce 3.5

Not sure if this is affecting it:

x/woocommerce/notices/error.php version 3.3.0 is out of date. The core version is 3.5.0,
x/woocommerce/notices/notice.php version 1.6.4 is out of date. The core version is 3.5.0,
x/woocommerce/notices/success.php version 3.3.0 is out of date. The core version is 3.5.0,
x/woocommerce/single-product-reviews.php version 3.2.0 is out of date. The core version is 3.5.0

Or is it something else?

Thanks,

Kurt

Hello Kurt,

Thanks for writing in! The notices should not affect the cart and in displaying the items. To assist you better with this issue, would you mind providing us the url of your site with login credentials so we can take a closer look?

To do this, you can create a secure note with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password

To know how to create a secure note, please check this out: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/how-to-get-support/288

Thank you.

Thanks, just sent that through on a secure note.

Hi Kurt,

I tried adding and removing products in your cart using chrome and firefox browsers but I can’t seem to replicate the issue. It is working fine on my end.

Can your provide us exact steps on how we can replicate the issue.

Thanks

Hi Paul,

No worries. I’ve spoken to an affected user, and replicated it myself.

It only happens for people who click through on a Google Ad.

So if you search for ‘polycarbonate roofing nz’ you should see our ad as the first or second one. Sunnyside.

Click on that.

Add anything to the cart.

Go to cart.

It will either show as empty (the more common problem), or it may have items in it.

If it has items in it, click ‘proceed to checkout’.

It will then say ‘there are no items in your cart’.

If you quit the browser, then type in the URL www.sunnyside.co.nz directly, it will show the original items in the cart, and the checkout process would work correctly from there.

This is the same on Chrome, Safari, IE etc.

Thanks,

Kurt

Hello Kurt,

I have tested your site in Chrome and Safari. I could not replicate the issue as well.
All the items is showing in the cart.

Please clear your browser cache and cookies. You may use private browsing mode and test your site again.

Hi there,

I’ve just replicated it again.

You have to make sure you click through on a Google Ad first (not by going directly to www.sunnyside.co.nz)

And then add something to the cart.

Once you go to the cart, it might show the item or it might not. Obviously if not, that’s a problem.

But if it is, click ‘proceed to checkkout’

This is where it did not show the item (saying your cart is empty) for me this time. The previous time I replicated it, it did not show it straight away.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Kurt

Hey Kurt,

Your Cart page was or is still being cached that’s why if you click an ad (which we don’t know where to click by the way), the one that’s being served is a blank cart.

If you don’t have a caching plugin installed in WordPress, please contact your web host if they have a built-in caching system. If that’s the case, ask them to clear all caches and exclude WooCommerce’s pages.

Please also try switching to the default WordPress theme and check if the issue persists.

Thanks.
