WooCommerce Layout Assignment

Hello,

If you would be so kind, I need an explanation on how to assign WooCommerce Layouts. I’m trying to do the following:

  1. I have created a WC Archive layout for my Shop (in general) with a priority 0
  2. I also created a WC Single layout for each of my Categories with a priority -1

Now, I have assigned (1) to “Shop” and (2) to “Product Category is #CATEGORY”, but I’m still getting a default WooCommerce layout no matter if I go to Shop in general or select a specific product Category.

My goal is to have a fully custom layout for my “Shop,” and as for Categories, I’d like to display only category-related products. Can you please help me with that?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Just an update, as it looks, layout assignment now completely stopped working and no matter what I do, a default WooCommerce shop layout is displayed.

Update #2

I have restored my site to a point where my custom WC Archive Shop layout is working (assigned to Shop with priority 0). Now I have created another WC Archive layout and assigned it to two of my product categories with priority -1:

Preview inside Cornerstone is displaying a correct layout:

But when I go to those specific category pages, my Shop archive layout is displayed instead the one I assigned. How can I resolve this? Thanks.

Hi @zacks_adm,

Thanks for reaching out.
For the Categories, you need to create the WC Archive layout instead of the WC Single layout. The WC Single layout is for the Product Details or other WooCommerce single page.

Hope it helps.
Thanks

Hello @tristup

You are right, and I managed to figure that out in the meantime, but please check my last reply. I did create two WC Archive layouts; one for my Shop and one for two specific categories. But the one assigned to categories is not working.

Hi @zacks_adm,

You need to select the OR condition, not the AND as it is selected in your given screenshot.

If that does not help, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password
– Specific Layout name where you are having this problem

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks

Hello @tristup

For some reason, I cannot select/click on the “or” condition when creating layout assignments.

Login credentials are provided below.

  • Layout assigned to Shop is “Offgrid Shop” (works)
  • Layout assigned to Categories is “Shop Category Layout” (not working)

Hi @zacks_adm,

You need to click into the Add Condition Group to get the OR option. I have tested and already added that to your Layout, please check if that resolves your problem.

Thanks

Hello @tristup

It is working now, thank you very much! I just have to figure out now what’s wrong with my product looper and why it’s not showing anything

Hi @zacks_adm,

Glad that it is working now.

Thanks
