WooCommerce images periodically not appearing on load

Hi X,

Happy to have the forum back, it’s already helped us solve some of the many Woo issues we are facing.

Here’s one we haven’t been able to solve. While cruising around the products on our site, I noticed a few products didn’t automatically load an image. The gallery is still above and once you click on it all is well OR if you refresh the page all is well but not seeing an image is a serious issue. I didn’t notice this previously but sometimes when you see things that are off you think it’s your computer or connection. And I haven’t noticed it on a particular product or category. We checked plugin conflicts and added a plugin to remove the Woo 3.0 zoom (all of the salts and scrubs have zoom hidden for testing purposes) nothing seem to make a difference. Can you please have a look? https://pronounceskincare.com/

Additionally, when Woo does load an image, it always loads the smallest product size image and not the set Featured Image. The only way we’ve been able to fix this is to go in and delete the small product size image from the media gallery all together then upload a new one and reinsert it into the product gallery. We’ve done this will “salts and scrubs” but the other products are incorrectly loading.

Thanks for your amazing support!!!

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! In WooCommerce 3.0, there were major revisions on the plugin. One of those is the way the product images along its gallery has been. You can check out this in the changelog: https://woocommerce.wordpress.com/2017/04/04/say-hello-to-woocommerce-3-0-bionic-butterfly/

I checked your site and regarding the images, it could be just due to caching. Since you have installed a caching plugin W3 Total Cache, after doing any updates, please clear your plugin cache before testing your site. This can cause the changes to not take place on the front end. It will eventually show up when the cache regenerates, but it’s not ideal if you’re looking to see your changes immediately.

The product images displayed can be managed in the settings: WooCommerce > Products > Display > Product images. The settings there is why the image appear a bit smaller than what is the featured image.

Hope this helps.
