Woocommerce fatal error

Hi there, I had a working instance of woocommerce but went to update it and got the following message:

Warning : require_once(/var/www/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/vendor/composer/autoload_classmap_package.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/vendor/autoload_packages.php on line 183

Fatal error : require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/var/www/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/vendor/composer/autoload_classmap_package.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/remi/php73/root/usr/share/pear:/opt/remi/php73/root/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear:/usr/share/php’) in /var/www/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/vendor/autoload_packages.php on line 183

Has anyone experienced this or know how to help?

Many thanks

Hello Tariq,

Thanks for writing in!

Based from the errors above, all of the errors were coming from WooCommerce plugin. Please make sure that you are using the latest version and that the plugin files were not corrupted. You may need to re-install WooCommerce plugin. Go to the plugins section, deactivate the WooCommerce and delete it. You can then install it back.

It could also be caused by a plugin conflict, amongst other things. Please check out this troubleshooting article here and follow the instructions for the following sections (where appropriate):

  • Testing for Plugin Conflict
  • Theme Update
  • Child Theme
  • CSS/JS Customization
  • Increasing PHP Memory Limit
  • Disabling Cache
  • Disabling CDN

If after trying all of the above things you are still experiencing problems, please reply below, including login details to your site in a secure note, so that we can investigate further. You can add a secure note by clicking on the key icon underneath your post and then entering the details into the modal that appears. This way, the information will only be seen by you and us.
