Hello,
I am looking for some guidance as to the best protocol for updating woocommerce and it’s extensions.
Currently PRO is only compatible with WooCommerce 3.7.1 meanwhile WooCommerce’s most recently released version is 3.8.1. My site is running v3.6.5 right now. From what I can tell, the only way to upgrade to a specific version that is not the current version is by going to the Plugin page on wordpress>Advanced View>Previous Versions and downloading the one you are looking for.
- Do I need to delete my current WooCommerce Plugin before I install the 3.7.1 package? or can I just install as is?
In addition, I currently use the following WC extensions:
-
WooCommerce - ShipStation Integration
-
WooCommerce Authorize.Net Gateway
-
WooCommerce Chained Products
-
WooCommerce Conditional Shipping and Payments
-
WooCommerce Name Your Price
-
WooCommerce Pre-Orders
-
WooCommerce Product Add-ons
-
WooCommerce Product Bundles
-
WooCommerce Services
-
WooCommerce Shipment Tracking
-
WooCommerce Smart Coupons
-
WooCommerce Google Analytics Integration
My concern is if it is safe to update these extensions?
-
Do I update WC Core first?
-
Do I update the extensions first?
-
Is there a date for the release of compatibility with 3.8.1?
WC 3.9 is planning on being released by 1/14/20. I am concerned about falling too far behind.
I am just asking for some guidance as I have been patient on updating things due to compatibility but I am unsure how to proceed.
Thanks,
-Joe
