Trying to use [woocommerce_checkout] in a PRO page element and it breaks the page seemingly everytime. It works fine in the standard WordPress content but as soon as I put it into the page builder as an element the page won’t load. I have the Products & Cart styled up exactly how I want them using the new PRO V4 layouts… would live to be able to apply the styling to the Checkout Page as well. Is this something that’s on the radar to fix? If so is there a timeline?
Hi @SCOMAC,
Thanks for reaching out. I’ve checked on this and it looks like Pro was missing assignment rules for Cart and Checkout. I’ve added them for the next release. Once that is available, the process will look like this:
- All WooCommerce to manage your Cart, Checkout, and Account pages. This means the Checkout page itself should not be built in Pro but simply contain the
[woocommerce_checkout]shortcode - Create a new WooCommerce Single Layout
- Click “Use Template” and select Checkout
- In the bar, click the preview manager and select the Checkout for previewing
- Under Settings, use the Assignments control to assign this layout to the Checkout context
You’ll see that we just use a The Content element somewhere within the Layout to tell WooCommerce where to output the Checkout area itself.
I’m sorry it’s not immediately available, but hopefully this helps when the release it out. You should see it available within the next 24-48 hours.
Okay! this is so great to know that you can actually insert the woocommerce links waow! : https://prnt.sc/yctlej
Glad to hear it helped you, Matt!
Has this update been released? I don’t see the checkout option when I click “Use Template”
. All plugins and themeses are updated.
Hi @SCOMAC,
To create a custom checkout, you need to assign the type to WC Single.

Then select the use template then and click the checkout. The next thing you should do is assign the layout to checkout by going to settings and set the assignment.

And you are now free to customize your checkout page.
Hope that helps.
Thank you.
