Woo Gallery (Issues with Dynamic Thumbnail Gallery Slider on Product Page)

Hi,

After reviewing ThemeCo’s documentation and forum resources, we were able to build a dynamic Thumbnail Gallery Slider for the single product page using the Single Layout. However, we are currently facing the following issues:

  1. We would like to enable a zoom-on-hover feature in the Hero Slider, similar to the zoom functionality available in the default product gallery.
  2. We would like the image to open in a lightbox when clicking on the magnify icon, again similar to the behavior in the default product gallery.
  3. Variation images are not updating or displaying when a product option is selected.

You can review the demo using the link provided in the secure note.

Could you please guide us on how we can achieve this?

Thank you for your support.

Hey @bibhashkarn,

Regretfully, we don’t have an element that could replicate the zoom and lightbox with the product image. That also applies to Variation Images. With that said, this would require custom development which is beyond the scope of our product support.

For variable products, you currently would need to use the Product elements available in Pro. This could not be replicated with other elements.

Thank you for understanding.

Hi,

Thank you for your response and for the detailed clarification.

We understand that the Slider version of the theme currently does not support Zoom and Lightbox functionality for product images. However, we were expecting these features, as they are built-in functionalities of WooCommerce. We hope these features will be integrated into the theme in the future, as they are basic and essential WooCommerce functionalities.

Additionally, we would appreciate further clarification on the following statement:

We are not fully clear on what this means and how it applies to our use case. Could you please elaborate further?

Lastly, is there any possible workaround to achieve a lightbox effect—for example, using Pro’s Modal—with product images?

We look forward to your guidance and possible solutions.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

Hey Bibhash,

You will have to utilize the default WooCommerce elements, like the Woo Product Gallery.

You would find most of the WooCommerce elements by loading a WooCommerce Product Single layout.

Using the Pro’s Modal element and the Slider element may need custom JS coding to be able to integrate the two elements and the Product Variable selection. Be advised that custom JS coding is beyond the scope of our Support.

Happy Holidays.

Hi,

Thank you for the clarification and detailed explanation.

I appreciate your guidance on this matter.

At the moment, we’re unable to achieve the desired Thumbnail Gallery Slider for the product as initially expected. For now, we’ll proceed with the default Product Gallery and hope that the Thumbnail Gallery Slider feature for the products (including variable products) will be available in a future update of the Pro theme.

Happy Holidays to you as well.

Thank you and best regards.

Happy to help, Bibhash.
