Woo Checkout Editor causing problems for UAE as they don't have a postcode

Hi, I’ve implemented WooCommerce on a site and then installed the Woo Checkout Editor plugin, when a user who lives in the UAE tries to buy something it hides the post code field as they don’t have post codes. However when they try to buy it it says they can’t as post code is a required field. Is there a workaround for this? Thanks

Hi there @glassballoon,

Thanks for writing in! You can follow the customization mentioned here (https://wpmayor.com/how-to-remove-the-billing-details-from-woocommerce-checkout/) and just remove the lines you don’t need.

More extended sample is here (https://gist.github.com/corsonr/7215762).

Thanks!

Hi,

Thanks for that. However if the user is in the UK I do want postcode to be mandatory, I disabled the Woo Checkout Editor plugin and it now works as it should, basically can I not use that plugin if we have clients in countries that the postcode is hidden for?

Hey @glassballoon,

I have replicated the issue and this looks like a bug. I’ll post this in our issue tracker. For now, you will need to make the Post Code field non-mandatory. Please stay tuned for updates.

Thanks.

Hi, I did make it non-mandatory in the plugin, but it still didn’t work. So I had to disable the plugin. Thanks for the help.

Hello @glassballoon,

I suggest you to please stay tuned for the update as the issue has been submitted into our bug tracker.

Thanks for understanding.
