With X-Update 6.5.5 or 6.5.6 the whole sidebar disappears

Hi,

I have Wordpress 5.2.1 and X 6.5.3 and the sidebar works correctly.

But with X-Update 6.5.5 or 6.5.6 the whole sidebar disappears.

What can I do? Please help.

Thanks for reaching out.

It seems you have restored it back, could you try creating a staging of your site and test the update there? And please provide the URL and admin login credentials of that site in the secure note. Please check this https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/slider-revolution-error-message/48874 about the staging.

I can not do all the things from the link with my provider.

So I wanted to write a secure note but can NOT see the “Secure Note” button in the reply.

Hi Albert,

It appears your sidebar has no ID at all in Admin > Appearance > Sidebars

Could you try re-saving it, else, please try re-creating that sidebar and re-add widgets. I couldn’t reproduce this on my installation with the updated version. Perhaps this is only isolated to your setup.

@fedeanimation, please check if your sidebar IDs are available too, else please start a new thread about this issue and provide your site’s URL and admin login credentials in the secure note of your thread.

Thanks Rad!

I re-created the sidebar and re-added widgets and I got a sidbar-id.

But when I then installed the x.zip-update I did NOT get Sidebars in Admin > Appearance. And therefore no sidebar appears.

I re-installed my old x.

In that case, could we try this on staging as requested? I like to install the update myself to see what’s really going on.

Did I understand it correctly? You want to install my site on your computer for staging? As I wrote, I can NOT do staging with my provider.

Hi Albert,

No, I can’t install it on my computer. And staging isn’t restricted on same hosting provider, you can choose another as temporary testing.

If it’s not possible then all we could do is test it on your live site but please update them and don’t restore it back while we’re on it.

Hi Lely!

I updated now and looked, as you mentioned, at the Cornerstone plugin. There was not the usual remark that an update is available, but instead “Update required”. So I made this update - and now the sidebar is there again. Huhuuu! :grinning:
