With Video Background In/Primary Menu's Sub Menu Lost Function/Container Will Not Go Transparent And Lost Text

I was able to get the background video in and display however it took out the primary menu’s sub menu function. And, the page’s text disappeared while trying to get the black container box transparent with the text color changed to black to be seen over the video.

I tried working with opacity but to no avail.
I also tried revslider and that would not even work.
I am self hosting the video from my library.

This is a 1 page insert for my video documentary"s from YMP on the wolves there.

The menu video link works but no sub menu, when clicked on. And the video page just refreshes and carries the behavior all through all the menu links pages, not just on the video page. Just no sub menus now.

I am out of my level of knowing what to do or how to do it.

In using a video plugin from code canyon (Easy WP Video Backgrounds) it also voids out the primary sub menu for the video page and does not remove the black container to an opacity overlay/transparent or change the text color.

I know a plugin can have a conflict but this happens even without one.
How can this be done without a plugin?

In short:
I am needing a way to remove the black color of the container box, get the opacity to show and change the text color.
Then resolve why my menu is wracked out.

I am looking forward to some guidance with this.
I don’t think it is a plugin issue.
Even without using a plugin it did this.

Thanking you ahead,

Jann

Hey Jann,

The issue seems to be caused by a currently known bug with the background JS. Would you mind updating to the latest version

The specific bug that I’m referring to that’s fixed in the latest version is:

BUGFIX: Page background setting not working with multiple images.

Thanks.

I lost my entire reply to you…
I did the update, deleted and remade the menu(s) still no sub menu showing.
I still can not get the opacity/overlay to apply over the video on the video page.

I can either have the container box solid black with white text or no text and no black box.
I am striving for a smoke colored (brownish tint) overlay/opacity with white text with seeing the video running behind it.

I am not a coder/IT/or programmer so until I exhaust all researching to find an answer to my issue I do not pester you pros here.

I sure hope you can help me resolve these two issues.

Your help is very much appreciated.

Blessings,

Jann

Hi There,

Upon checking your website, I see some JS errors.

Please try testing a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Hope it helps.

You are spot on.
I deleted the plugin and the menu has been restored.
Thank you for your astute eye.

I aquired another plugin that is running the full page video
without conflict now.

I do have a code problem with getting the container box to a partial transparency/overlay or opacity to see the video through it yet tinted enough to see the text.

I have tried various css combinations on the pages css additions to not positive results.
example: .entry-wrap { background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.8); }
.x-container.main:before { background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.8); }

I am not a programmer by any means and googling he issue has taken a lot of time/trial & error.
So here I am again seeking those that know the X theme’s framework and set-up to guide me how to accomplish my goal.

I uploaded a screen capture to show the black container that needs to be semi tinted and transparent to reveal the video behind it and the text on top.

I hope you can guide me on this solution.

Slainte’,

Jann

Hi Jann,

I checked and can see that it is already transparent.

It seems you have already figured it out. Can you confirm?

Thanks
