Widgets OVER Slider

[BradN]

Hello - been trying to emulate a component from a competitors theme. They allow for widgets to be placed over the home page slider. See Red Box in the image. These are built in the widget section and then placed over the slider.

Is there a way to do this with X theme? I have rebuilt the widgets as individual components, so each section has a favicon, and two rows of text - but aligning these to the layer is tedious and also responsiveness is impossible as the components are all treated separately.

Any thoughts, or plugins to achieve this?

Thanks!!!

Hi there,

This feature is not available with X and would require you to do some customization.

What I can suggest is that you can override the theme’s template files through a child theme and place the widget areas directly below the slider then set a negative margin to the widget area so that it will be pulled up to the slider region. Please also note that you will have to write additional CSS media query to remove the negative margin for mobile views.

Hope this gets you started.
