Widgets in header/footer

Hi I can’t get the widgets to appear in my header/footer area, in particular google translate.
I’ve checked all the formatting and it doesn’t seem to be because the colour is being blanked out. It’s just not showing up. I tried to make a “custom footer” but even that wouldn’t display google translate and then I ran into issues with how to make the columns line up nicely.
Thank you.

Hi @curemyovariancancer

I can’t see themes/plugins installed with this user account, hence I couldn’t open the theme options or the builder pages, please make sure the user account shared is for an admin account.

Thanks.

Thanks for making me aware of that: I’ve updated the user account to Admin status.
Kind regards,
Jane

Hi @curemyovariancancer,

I checked and yes, widgets aren’t being displayed. Though, I couldn’t find any reason why it behaves like that when the widget areas (header/footer) are active. Maybe checking the error logs will help, would you mind providing your FTP login credentials too?

It could be that the output of the widget is triggering an internal error or just normal warning that results to empty output.

Thanks!

Thanks for your help. I’ll include it below.

Hi @curemyovariancancer

I managed to get this widget appearing in the footer on a testing page I created (please check the link in Secure Note).

The thing is that you need to make sure that this specific widget isn’t being loaded on your page more than one.

Thanks.

HI Alaa,
Thanks for this - the footer one seem to except that I made 2 footer widgets and only 1 shows up in the widget area to add widgets to. Thanks for the advice about the header widget. Now I’ve deleted all the other translates it appears at the top. Is there a demo page where I can see where all the standard widget areas are meant to appear on x theme?

Kind regards
Jane

Hi Jane,

The standard widgets are the one provided by Wordpress. But all widgets should appear if their developers made them correctly. And unfortunately, there is no demo for widgets since they are part of Wordpress itself.

I assume this issue is now fixed as the credentials are no longer working.

Thanks!

Thanks Rad, wasn’t resolved but I’ve decided I don’t need it anymore. Cheers.

I see, you’re most welcome!
