Widgetbar Button link when no login user

Hi, i want to change the behavior of .x-btn-widgetbar, i want to still there and shows an alert but not expand the widgetbar.

jQuery('.x-btn-widgetbar').on('click', function() {
     alert ("It Works!");
})

But, how can I prevent the widgetbar from being expanded and still showing the button and only displaying the alert?
