I am currently playing around with widgets on wordpress. I tried to add a search widget just to see what it’ll look like on the website but unfortunately it does not seem to appear on any of my pages or posts.

The search widget or any other widgets will not display in your site because there aren’t any active widget areas in your site. Normally, if you add the search widget in the Main Sidebar, it will display in your sidebar. Since you have set up a “Fullwidth” content layout, which you have done it in X > Theme Options > Layout and Design > Content Layout, no sidebar is displaying in your entire site. Change your content layout to “Content Left, Sidebar Right” and you will see your sidebar being displayed on the page with the search widget in it.
