Why does demo preview look different to published page

Hi,
I used demo content on theme x and then converted it to pro. When I go to edit the page it looks fine. When I save and view the page, I have parallax but some of the content with an opaque background on preview is transparent. How do I fix this thanks.

Hi @curemyovariancancer,

It seems the content builder doesn’t accept the empty classic section:

I’ve added a classic row to the Save the date section and everything is working fine now.

Cheers!

Thanks for your help. I have a couple of other issues. Occasionally a second editing bar pops up. And my Jetpack cookies warning just won’t go away. I’m wondering if that’s an issue with the x->pro, where as all my other multisites just run off pro? I’ll create a page and put a screen shot up for you to see. I’ll put the link in Secure Note.

Hi Jane,

The preview only displays the saved data, and data is different from what you added on Wordpress classic editor. Example,

Please check the secure note, you have added that content in classic editor

It will be displayed on front or live page, but it’s not gonna appear on the builder preview since that content isn’t added through the builder. I recommend adding that image through text element editor, it will then display the same from front and the preview.

Plus, you’re hosted on SiteGround where it has own cache system, and cache is opposite of change. Any change may not take effect immediately due to cache. I recommend turning that off since you’re still on development phase. Cache and optimization are only recommended in production/live site.

Thanks!

Thanks Rad. I think I was ambiguous in my request, or I am not understanding your answer. The purpose of the image was to take a screen shot so you could see what is happening. Sometimes when I am editing the site I get two editing bars appear side by side. If I understand correctly - you are telling me it is due to the system cacheing? I understand cache can mean that there is a lag in a change being implemented on the site, but I didn’t realise it could interfere with how the page builder works?? I didn’t have this issue with any of the other multisites.
Thanks

Hi Jane,

Sorry about that, my colleague misunderstood your request. I understand that the page was created so you can show us your screenshot.

I can the two editing bars, I checked in my test sites and this is not happening. This is also not a known issue with the theme.

Can you provide us the url of the page where this happens.
You could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Let us know how it goes!

Hi Paul,

Thanks. I’ve put the site URL on Secure note. I’ve also noticed that the Jetpack Cookie’s plugin isn’t functioning correctly either. It’s interesting, because I run a multisite so the plug ins are the same on every site and they are all ok. Except this site I have with Pro, then changed to X to install the demo, then back to Pro, and it’s a bit glitchy. I’m wondering if there is something inherent in that process, or if it’s just a co-incidence.

Thanks.

Hi Jane,

Sorry for the confusion, I thought we’re still discussing the same issue about the demo preview  with two header bars.

About that issue, I saw similar glitches with two editing sidebar and it’s due to redirect and cache related. The preview redirects back to the edit window causing the builder contained on the same builder preview. Though, I’m checking it and couldn’t reproduce this, would you mind providing a video recording on how to reproduce this on your site? Been editing and there is no two editing sidebar.

Thanks!

Thanks Rad for your help. It doesn’t happen all the time. Perhaps it is just the cache. I solved the Jetpack Cookie issue too, for some reason it won’t disappear if it’s inserted in the header, but when I shift it to the footer it works just fine.
Much appreciated.

You’re welcome!
We’re glad @Rad were able to help you out.
