Why can't we re-label component ID?

This is weird to me, the field for component ID is editable, but it doesn’t remember the change we made or can we call a component by custom ID.

Can this be a feature request? It’ll make copying and exporting components way easier and not having to re-link it each time.

Thanks for pointing that out.

At the moment, it isn’t possible to assign a custom ID to components. However, since the field is editable, we can certainly submit this as a feature request for future consideration.
