While using the visual text editor, the editing menu does not show any of the extended text editing features in my TinyMCE plug-in, nor does it have basic text editing tools like font size, or just changing the font. I also have other plug-ins which should be embedded in the text editor, a “calendar” which I used to be able to insert??
Hi There,
It sounds like you might be having an issue with a third party plugin or script. Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third party plugins or scripts as our support policy in the sidebar states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to X will need to be directed to the original developer.
Thank you for your understanding.
Why does it work in the regular editor and none of these options are available when I edit with Pro???
The Content Builder only supports the built-in TinyMCE that comes out of the box with WordPress.
Thank you for understanding.
How do I expand the editing capabilities within the text such as changing fonts, font sizes…I don’t understand why the editing is so limited. I’d prefer to not have to use HTML / Code to change the structure every time - this used to be simple when X was first released, now it seems it is restrictive.
Hi There,
There is global settings for body content on Theme Options > Typography > Body Content. This way it is set sitewide on all body content like paragraphs and no need to set for each text element.
But what’s if we want to change the settings per text element? Now we have no way of doing it without changing the global settings.
Hello Nate,
Thanks for updating this thread. Please be aware that TinyMCE plug-in overrides the default editor of WordPress. Cornerstone only supports the default WordPress editor. The TinyMCE plug-in does not override the editor of Cornerstone. Unless this plugin is being integrated in Cornerstone or the plugin itself will support and override the Cornerstone editor, then editing individual text elements in Cornerstone is possible.
Hope this helps.
so another case against pro. the moment i start working with my pro installation the fun ends abruptly
i need this editor because i want to add custom colors when editing text. the pro color templates do not show up, which would be a solution. what do you suggest i should do? thanks! kai
Hi There,
While the Classic elements depend on the Global Settings (Customizer), the V2 elements have its own text formatting and text styling options.
Do you mean the Color Picker? Please confirm that you’re on the latest version of the Theme. That could also be a plugin conflict, please do a testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
If that does not work, please create a new thread regarding this issue.
Thanks,
to clarify. i am within the text element and can’t have the tinymce editor since i am in pro…
now i want to color just one word inside the text. i only have the very basic color picker in the text editor and no way to save some custom colors which i need to use over and over again. for now i have to paste the hex value in the color picker every single time. this is the opposite of “pro”…
Hi,
Thank you for your clarification.
This is something we can add to our list of feature requests. This way it can be taken into consideration for future development. All of these items are discussed with our team internally and prioritized based on the amount of interest a particular feature might receive. Thanks!
thanks paul! to have a seamless user experience i find it very important to have a text-editor consistent with the rest of cornerstone! right now it is a pain to use with custom colors and the color templates are not available at all. i guess the new template manager won’t change that?! thanks. kai
Thanks for your feedback, Kai.
