Where are the my section presets?

Hi There

Since i’ve updated the PRO, i noticed that the very simple load, save preset tab dissapeared but then noticed a tab called templates and inside that i don’t see most of my previous section presets (but 3 really old ones) i have saved in the past. I have just found them in manage libary but it says that, they are elements and not section.

Could you please tell me why and how i can easily save and load the section presets to a blank new section, that i used to have saved with ease but now it is really difficult to do so now then before?

I appreciate the help and guidence
Sam

Hi Sam,

Thanks for reaching out.
The Preset can be found in the Library as shown in the given screenshot.

If you didn’t find the presets under the library, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks

I thought so too, but cannot see any of them, except 3 really old ones i created, however i have created so much more the last year and it is not there…

I’m having the exact same issue.

@SayyamJS I see your templates in the element library lists. Look for a the templates area. Anybody else might be having the same issue. How did you export these? In the area like the screenshot? There is also a template sections export in the document outline. That will place these in the “Sections” area. Let us know if you have questions!

Hey Charlie, so i never exported the sections i created before because i didn’t feel the need to do so. Previously i would just create a blank section and load it up with a preset i created before.

Since the update, i found them in the libary as elements and not sections, columns, rows, how i used to save the previously. The only saved presets i can access from before is the headlines, buttons, sliders, etc.

I thought i test the new version by creating and saving a new section, which took me time to find out how to save, but when i did find it, i saved it and it showed a preview before clicking on save.

After saving i wanted to test it and load it on a new blank section, but it wasn’t even appearing on the templates tab under sections. I don’t know what i am doing wrong?

I just want to access all of my saved sections, columns, rows via the template library and load them to any blank new one, if i need the template.

Here is a screenshot of me trying to save a new section but instead saving it as an element.

Hey Sayyam,

Please be informed that the saved element Presets can be found in “Add Elements > Templates”.

Hope this helps.

@ruenel I can see my saved elements as you informed Sayyam, however, I cannot use them at all. I click on them and nothing happens (I clicked on every single one of them). I have saved presets for all kinds of elements (text, column, row, section, button, alert, etc.) and I can’t load them, the only ones I can load are regular (non-preset) elements.

I will second what Sayyam said: I just want to access all of my saved sections, columns, rows via the template library and load them to any blank new one.

If you want to access and save anything to the template library. You are going to export from Save Document or Save Section Template. See screenshots. Where you are saving @SayyamJS is going to place them in the Element Library. Save Template is not a good name for that button as it ends up acting more as an element which could be what you want to do. It’s more of a “Template Element”.

@E_Mendivil I would create another topic with a secure note so we can see the issue where your section templates do not apply. Do you get a success message?

In the next update most likely, you are going to see sections in the element library with a way to add them in without CTRL Clicking the outline. Since Columns and Cells need a specific parent you will probably still need to CTRL Click the outline on a valid parent to see custom cells and columns.

Let us know if you have any questions! Thanks

Will save to the general “Sections” area of the template library.

Will save to “Pages” templates because this was a page.

Hi Themeco, I wanted to post that I also find it very difficult to add a section preset to a page. It worked very well prior to the Pro 6 update. If it all possible, please try and make it easy and straightforward like before. I honestly gave up on trying to figure this out and just created a new section from scratch to get the job done faster.

Hey @kostax,

There are certain reasons behind the major update and change in the view of Page Builder which you are used to. Still, we are concerned about your feedback and will keep those in mind while working on the next updates.

Thank you.

Add my voice to the growing chorus of frustrated users. I have a site which had a couple Button presets. With those presets I could quickly and easily apply the styling to new buttons.

Now, after hours of searching (this forum, the V6 Release notes, tutorial videos, etc.) I can’t find a way to replicate this functionality at all. I’m wondering what it’s going to take to get my sites functioning as before. Could we get a tutorial video that shows the new process for saving & applying presets for buttons, headlines, text, etc.?

I’m also a bit frustrated about the new mechanics. Before I had several presets (buttons, rows, lists etc.) which I could easily apply to newly placed elements of the same kind either by just applying the style or by applying the content as well. Took me a while already to figure out how save an non-section element as a template by right-click and manage an element and how to insert it on another page.

Now it’s a lot more work when e.g. updating a website with multiple languages where some elements are the same (e.g. a logo slider) across the different languages. I know I could have used global blocks for that, but in this specific case I didn’t.

Couldn’t you just bring back the “good old” Preset tab? Please, please

Hey guys,

Thank you for your feedback. I have listed your concerns in our issue tracker to let our development team know.

Right now, the Save Preset or now Save Template, is in the Manage Element area.

Applying a preset is admittedly pretty tricky right now. You need to add your preset element to the page then copy it and paste its style to the destination element. I’ve noted your concern about this.

Please stay tuned for succeeding updates.

Thanks.
