When you click on a sub category, I'd like it not to have the main category name with it in the URL

Hi, I’ve just started a new website and there are sub categories in the menu system. When you click on a sub category, I’d like it not to have the main category name with it in the URL eg www.domain.co.uk/sub-category instead of www.domain.co.uk/category/sub-category
The only way I can think of doing this is to not assign a Parent to those pages, but when you do it like this, when you view the list of page names on the dashboard, it doesn’t clearly show the sub categories as it’s just a long list of page names - I hope this makes sense!

I personally don’t recommend it as it may cause a name conflict. You may use SEO plugin to achieve that, like from here https://jonnyjordan.com/blog/how-to-remove-category-from-your-urls-in-wordpress/. You may need to contact the plugin author for further clarification.
