What's app links are broken links

Hello, win my site https://www.jitty.nl/ the what’s app links turn up as 404 links in my seo software. I am afraid google will also index them as 404 and they are over 50 of those links in my site. Is there anting I can do about these links?

Hey Ronald,

I have checked your site and it seems that the Whatsapp links are using the button element. What you can do is to edit the Global Block that is displaying those links and enable the nofollow option.

The nofollow tag tells search engines to ignore that link. Because nofollow links do not pass PageRank they likely don’t impact search engine rankings.

Hi Ronald,

I don’t think you should be concerned about the WhatsApp links showing as 404 using your SEO software since the links are now on nofollow which means it will be ignored by Google.

Also, please note that this is something that goes beyond the scope of our support because the links work correctly, it’s just that your SEO checker reads the link as 404 pages and the links are links to Whatsapp which has nothing to do with the theme.

You might want to get an opinion of an SEO expert regarding this matter.
