What is happening with the HTML?

Hi

I have an issue with this page. https://help.permido.com/guide-til-opsaetning-af-permido-for-exchange/
I’m making a guide with several steps and don’t use numbered bullets because the list continues below a image.

The HTLM looks fine

And also in Cornerstone

But when i see the page as a visitor it looks like this

I’ve tried defferent browsers, deactivating all plugins, clear cache and browser cache… nothing works.

It’ happens more places om the same page.

What can it be?

Thanks!

Hi @rbfoto,

Thanks for reaching out.
It is not very clear about the issue you are having, is those images are showing even if that is not in the HTML content added? If that is the case, it might be due to some Broken HTML or any tag that has been closed in improper manner. I would suggest you can delete the section one by one till the issue is fixed, and the last one you have deleted before the fix is the actual issue.
If that does not help, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks

There are only one section.
And i’m not keen on deleting 8 hours of work

I’ve tried to make a new text element and write the same.
And it happens again.

Everything is written in the element and not HTML view.
And as you can see in the first image, the HTML is fine.

Second image is Cornerstone showing the text OK.

Third image is showing how it looks in non edit mode.

The fourth image is Google Chrome inspection tool.
Showing the </br > is gone…

Cheers!

Hi @rbfoto,

It seems that the Admin Login is required 2 Factor Authentication. I would suggest you disable it temporarily or you can please copy your live site to a staging server and disable the 2 Factor Authentication.
And give us access in the secure note including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks

I’ve disabled it…

Hi @rbfoto,

I have checked the content and also inspect from Brower Debugging Tool and found the
tag is showing.

If you are still seeing the same, I would suggest you check once by clearing all types of cache including the Style Cache from Cornerstone > Settings > System > Clear Style Cache and check in the incognito/private mode of the browser.

Hope it helps.
Thanks

The issue is still there.
If you go down to “Exchange opsætning” https://help.permido.com/guide-til-opsaetning-af-permido-for-exchange/#exchangeSetup

There should be <br> at the green dots.

They are in the element HTML, as I showed before.

Clear style cache does not help.

The issue is not consistent all over the page.

In the text element the standard line break is returned as HTML <br />.
If I change them to <br> it works. But as soon I edit the text in visual editor, it changes automatically to <br />.

There is something broken in the way it intreprets the HTML on some elements.
I’ll try to reupload the theme files to see if that helps.

Btw … i’m thinking kan it be the [] that is doing some thing? but still, it’s not consistent.

Hi @rbitfoto,

It will be very difficult to tell as we were not able to see the problem you explained. You try uploading the theme files and let us know how it works for you.

Thanks

Well it didn’t help.

If you scroll down to this headline https://help.permido.com/guide-til-opsaetning-af-permido-til-microsoft-365/#exchangeSetup
You can see that 2. 3. 4. and 5. is on the same line. they should break. And so they do, when I edit the page.
If you do an right click on the text and inspect in chrome, the line breaks is gone…

Iv’e cleared ALL caches, and still the same result.
Tried on other computers and mobile devices.

Btw, reason for late reply, is that i’m at this client on thursdays and fridays.

Cheers

Hi @rbfoto,

The current URL is different from the previous URL where you were having the issue. I have tried to check the current page by logging in but was not able to log in due to the 2FA app. I would suggest you disable it temporarily to check further.

Thanks

Sorry my bad

I’ve disabled it now.
We changed the title and URL for the document.

Hi @rbfoto,

I have checked the HTML and it does not have any issue in it. I went ahead and cleared the Cache and it loaded perfectly fine.

Still, I would request you use the br tag or closing br tag without any spaces. Please go through the following article on this.

https://www.tutorialspoint.com/What-is-the-correct-way-of-using-br-br-or-br-in-HTML

Thanks

Are you in Cornerstone?
Because the issue is not pressent in Cornerstone, as I’ve tried many times to tell you.

And about the br’s … no matter what i do in the text element, Cornerstone automaticly changes them to <br />. I have even tried on an completly other site.

I’ve made a video to show what I mean … Hope it helps.

Hi @rbfoto,

I know the Page Builder is showing the correct output, the screenshot given in the previous post is referring to the Browser output. Regarding the br tag, it was assumed that the content has been added directly as HTML and that is why the article was referred to.

Thanks
