What forum compatible with Pro best

Hello There!

We want to install a forum for our site, and we would like to know what forum is compatible with Pro theme best.

Hey Daphne,

You can use bbPress as it is an approved plugin.

Thanks.

Hello Dear Christian,

Thanks for your suggestion.

I have installed bbpress and I think it is a good suggestion.

I install the login page for the forum and the link is https://ibywind.com/new-account-registration/

But when i tried to test it and I found when i finish the registration, it does not send the email registration verification code to the registered email but direct me to another url as per

I don’t know why. Can you tell me why.

Hey Daphne,

It could be an issue with your mail setup. Please contact your host. Regretfully, we could not troubleshoot bbPress functionality issues because that is a third party plugin. Also, Pro does not modify bbPress functions.

Thank you for understanding.

Hello Dear Christian,

I understand. So to clarify, we cannot use cornerstone to edit forums, topics, and replies? It is another independant part from Pro?

Best regards
Daphne

Hey Daphne,

Yes, those are powered by their respective template files so they’re not editable.

Thanks.

Hello Dear Christian,

I understand forum is independant part from the wordpress now. Then if i want the bbpress forum looks good, do I need to purchase another template like I purchased X/PRO for wordpress? If yes, do you sell these kinds of templates?

Hi there,

BBPress is a plugin so if you will install it on X/Pro you would not need to purchase a new template as they can work hand in hand. What you will have to do is to customize the BBPress template files to fit your requirement. And we do not sell BBPress theme.

Hello Dear Jade,

Thanks for your kind clarification.

When I tried to edit “forums” page in Pro cornerstone, it looks ok. Here is the reference photo

But when you review it with browser, it is with codes left only. Here is the reference photo

I don’t know why. Can you please kindly clarify.

I saw in your guide, that you request the version for bbpress is 2.5.4, but what we installed on the backend is 2.5.14. Is it ok?

And if the topics parts is independant from the theme Pro, then where I can edit the template for the topic so it can share the same header as other sites? I know the plugin is not within your service. can i pay some fees to get this service.

Hi there,

Is that a static page or is it the page created by bBpress? Because you can’t really edit the forum page, it’s non-existing page (archive page).

Have you placed it as a shortcode?

Please provide the sample URL and admin login credentials and I’ll check it. I can’t promise any solution since bBpress reserved pages aren’t editable through cornerstone, or even in standard Wordpress editor.

Thanks!

Hi there,

Thank you for the information. The problem was that the bbPress forum has a default page which is the starting page of the forum with the slug of forums. That setting can be changed in Settings > Forums:

Now the page that you have added also had the same slug and that is why the problem occurs. I went to your page and changed the slug of the page from forums to theforum and now it is working ok:
