What determines the page link on a WPML translated page?

Hi,

I have a blog with catalan as it’s main language and translated to english and spanish with the WPML / X theme integration.

Most of it works but, I don’t know why, some pages get translated URLs and some don’t.

If I’m not mistaken there is no field to translate the URL, just the title:

Where should I be able to change that?
How come most of the pages but not all of them are getting translated URLs?

Do the URL get translated only when the url pefectly matches the title? That is not possible in some of the cases as not all characters of the titles are valid for the URLs

Thanks

Hello There,

Hope this helps. Please let us know how it goes.

Hi,

I’m not creating a copy of the page so I can not edit the slug field on the translated post as explained here:

http://tco-forum-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/original/2X/5/5f61b6be8d3d4d3f9cb5a6b81161a3bada0e339d.png

This is not my case.

I’m using the X Theme - WPML translation integration as shown in this screen capture:
http://tco-forum-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/original/2X/0/0434689014161e4a7ea362e7fb76d6a17bfda9fb.png

As there is no slug field, how is that I’m getting translations for some pages and not for some others?

For example:
http://urbanreligions.org/ca/el-projecte/
becomes
http://urbanreligions.org/es/el-proyecto/

with me just changing the title

But
http://urbanreligions.org/ca/lequip/
does not become
/el-equipo/
but
http://urbanreligions.org/es/lequip/

See, in the screenshot above, that I changed the title just the same to “El Equipo”

How it is that it is working on some and failing on some others?

Thanks

WPML support can best answer this question. Moreover, this issue isn’t theme related but has to do with permalinks. Please contact WPML support.

Thanks.
