Hello,

My client has a website built with X, currently in English.
They have a professional translator who will translate pages in Japanese.
We are thinking of creating duplicate pages with “ourdomain.com/ja” for example.
Could we still use your language switcher button without using WPML?

Any other suggestion for functionality is appreciated :wink:

Hey @Isabelle_808,

Thanks for writing in! If you are trying to set up two separate independent WordPress installation, one for English and the other for Japanese, then that wouls be possible. You just need to link the pages to the correct translated pages. Your Language Switcher button must be a custom button with the custom links since you do not have WPML.

PS: I may say that this is possible but I would not do it for my own site because sooner or later, a conflict or problems will arise in this kind of set up. Using a translation plugin like WPML is still highly recommended.
