Website Subdomain licenses

Hello,

I am looking to purchase X Pro and I want to create a website where I can practice my skills and show off my ability. I am the only person using it but it would be helpful to create separate fake websites so I don’t have to host heaps and heaps of websites. In my case, if I used subdomains, would I be required to purchase seperate X Pro Licenses? For example, I may have domains like mmrs.example.com, and cars.example.com and so on. The purpose of these would be just to get better at desinging but it looks like I’d have to purchase mutltiple licenses. Is that correct?

Thanks for writing in! Please be advised that you can use one license to validate two sites simultaneously. You can validate the live site and your staging site. If you only have one license and plan to have several staging sites, you can always revoke the license and reassigned it to another staging site.

To do that:
1] In your staging site 1, go to X/Pro > Validation and revoke the validation (https://s3.amazonaws.com/community-themeco/app/uploads/2016/04/17110514/Capture53.jpg).
2] Please login to your APEXaccount and revoke the license or remove the staging site 1 in your license.
3] After you have revoke the license, you need to re assign the license again to your staging site 2 using this url: https://www.example.com/. You have to make sure that url you just assign is the same as the one you have in your settings, Settings > General > Site Address
4] Go back to your staging site 2, X/Pro > Validation again, and insert your license code.

Thank you for the reply. If I may just confirm, that would be great.

So when I buy a license (Pro), I can use it for www.mmrs.example.com

Then I could revoke the license and then use that license for say www.cars.example.com

Then once again I could keep doing this for different subdomains.

A] Please let me know if this is not what you mean
B] Does this process allow me to keep the subdomain website maintained even after revoking the license?
C] Then if so, the website would be maintained, it just cannot be updated with new design or X Pro updates.

Hello There,

1.) Yes that is what I mean and you are correct. You can revoke and re use the license to validate the succeding sub domains that you are current working on.

2.) When you revoke the license, the theme will still work with no issues. The only thing that will affect is that you cannot update the theme or the bundled plugins because you can no longer connect to the Theme.co repository when doing the updates. You will have to revalidate it again if you want to update the theme or the bundled plugins.
