Website running incredibly slow

Hi, I created my client’s website on a subdomain, then transfered it to the proper one: arapina.co.uk

While I was making it, it was running normally, not too slow, not too fast, and it was like that for awhile after the transfer but suddenly it went massively down in terms of speed, and the issue is that even the admin panel is running very slow.

I did absolutely everything that I could, installing caching plugin, optimizing images, js, css, removed malware and the page score in gmetrix went up a lot, however the page loading time remains pretty much the same.

Does anyone have an idea where the problem might be and possible solutions?

Your host is the problem, firstly Hostgator is terrible for UK based sites and don’t even get me started on their SQL query times.

Get a UK Host and don’t be cheap.

One thing that bothers me though, is that this is the only website that’s performing like that and if the issue is with the hosting isn’t it suppose to be like that for all of them?

Depends on how much traffic the website gets, on shared hosting the server software will start limiting things like memory and sql sockets available for busy sites so they do not effect other sites on the server.

If you do not know much about hosting then I would suggest UKHOST4U shared cPanel servers

If you know more about hosting then Heart Internet or Digital Ocean if you know more than average.

I use VPS Servers on Heart and Digital Ocean, if you go with Digital Ocean you will have to install the server software yourself and also signup for a cPanel licence yourself, all really easy and you can spin up a server in under 20 minutes and be ready to go, they also charge per minute so you can just go test to see if it is for you and it will cost you a few pence, cPanel also offer a 14 day free trial on a WHM licence so its really cheap to try and test the speed.
