Website crash after update

Hi
I have a website https://www.bellitech.com.au/. When I try to update to latest version of Pro it crashes the website.
Running Wordpress 5.8
PHP version 7.4
Plugins have been updated and tested by turning off.
When I change the theme to a Wordpress version the website returns. So it is definitely the theme.
At the moment I have reuploaded the older version of Pro to restore the website.
Can you assist with any possible fixes for this issue as I need to run the latest version of Pro.
Thanks for any assistance.

Cheers
Deb

Hi Deb,

Thanks for reaching out.
I have checked your website and found you are using a much older version of Pro i.e. 4.0.8, and also you are using the Cornerstone version 5.0.8. The Cornerstone plugin is not required while you are using the Pro as it is already integrated into the theme as Content Builder. I would suggest you delete the Cornerstone and try to update the Pro once again.

If that does not work, please active any of the default themes and delete the existing Pro, and reinstall it by downloading it from your Themeco Account. I would suggest you take a backup of your site before update the theme manually or you can please copy your live site to a staging server and update the theme. If everything works fine in staging migrate it to the Live server.

If none of the above processes works, please provide login credentials for your site or staging site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks

Thanks for your reply.
I am running Pro version 4.8 because of it crashing when I have updated to latest version. To get the website back I had to return the older version. I don’t know where you are seeing the Cornerstone plug in because it is not visible on my plug in list. I will provide details of log in to website as a secure note. Cheers.

Hello Deb

You are using the Pro 4.0.8 version of the theme. I also noticed that you are using PHP 5.6.40 version.

I would suggest you contact your hosting provider to update the PHP version to 7.4 as per our version compatibility page.

In case if you have not seen our doc of theme update please have a look at it.

Please note you must clear all the cache so that the latest code renders properly.

Hope it helps
Thanks

Hi. Thanks for your reply.
I updated the PHP to 7.4 and retried loading new Pro version. It still crashes.
Can you assist further ??

Cheers

Hi Debbie,

Your site is still running an outdated version of PHP (5.6.40), which requires an update. You can see that WordPress critical error notice in the link below.

Please update your PHP version to 7.4 first before updating to PRO 5.0.6. You can ask your hosting on how you can upgrade the PHP version on your site.

Cheers,

Thanks for your reply.
A check of the CPanel confirms that I am running version 7.4. See image attached:

I do not know why it is showing in the wordpress dashboard that it is not.
Can you assist further?

Hi Debbie,

Sorry, it would be best if you ask your hosting support how to update the PHP version on your site effectively.

On the bottom of your screenshot is there a list of domains? Can you confirm that your domain is in fact using the 7.4 version?

Thanks,

Thanks for your reply. I have contacted the hosting provider as suggested.
