Webnus-MEC Issues

I’ve been waiting for about a week from Webnus on some issues using their plugins. It is very buggy. I don’t know if I will get any useful help here, but I thought I would post here because at this point I do not recommend using MEC. The only reason I started using MEC was because it is a recommend plugin on the X Theme. Needless to say, it has been a very disappointing experience.

  1. When I want to “Re send Invoice” from the Invoice > Manage invoice screen, the end-user receives 100’s of duplicate emails. The last time I tested it filled the inbox with over 1700 emails. I do not have any issue with other automated emails generated from WooCommerce or WPForms on my site.

  2. Using the WooCommerce Payment Gateway configuration with PayPal is also buggy. When the end-user submits payment, an error “SyntaxError: Unexpected token < in JSON at position 2” appears, yet completes the payment. (PayPal receives payment, but the user thinks it does not go through, so they try again. Resulting in refunds.) Please note, that there are no issues when checking out from the WooCommerce Store on the website. (only when checking out from the MEC booking is when the error appears)

Again, I have no expectations that I will receive help from this forum. But users should be aware.

Hey @wghiacy,

We will report this issue to Webnus but before that, we need to confirm if the issue is happening only with the compatible version of MEC or X and Cornerstone are involved. Please test temporarily switching to the default WordPress theme and deactivate Cornerstone and test if the MEC issue persists. Also, test without any 3rd party plugins or temporarily deactivate ALL 3rd party plugins.

Please reply back with the result of the tests mentioned above.

Thanks.

Thanks for the response.

I can confirm the following with the two issues previously mentioned.

  1. Yes, with 3rd party plugins turned off and using WordPress theme 2020, the issue continues. The latest I have heard from Webnus, is that they will patch it in an update.

  2. This issue was related when using a plugin called WooCommerce Order Status Control.

Wyce

Hey Wyce,

In that case, the issue is a plugin conflict and MEC and there’s nothing we can do for this case other than to wait for the update.

Please stay tuned for MEC updates.

Thanks.
