I was trying to access my /wp-admin site after a few months and found I couldn’t access it anymore. I received an error. I disabled a few plugins but I still can’t log in. Please help. I’ll provide details.

Hey There,

Would you mind providing us the url of your site with login credentials so we can take a closer look and fix the issue? This is to ensure that we can provide you with a tailored answer to your situation. Once you have provided us with your URL, we will be happy to assist you with everything.

To do this, you can make a post with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password

  • FTP Hostname
  • FTP Username
  • FTP Password

Thank you.

Thanks so much for helping, @RueNel
I’ll attach a secure note here!

Let me know if this doesn’t work!

Hi there,

I checked your website and it seems a 3rd party is causing the issue according to the error displayed. Please access your website using FTP and go to the WordPress installation folder and go to the plugins folder and rename cornerstone-powerpack to cornerstone-powerpack_old. That will make the cornerstone-powerpack which seems to be the reason for the error be deactivated and it should make it possible to access the admin.

Thank you.

Hi @christopher.amirian and @RueNel, thanks for helping!
I did what you asked and I now have additional error when I try to access kaikuroda.com/wp-admin.
What can I do here?

Fatal error: Class ‘Envira_Gallery_Widget’ not found in /home4/kkuroda27/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-widget-factory.php on line 106

Hello There,

The given ftp details is not working for us. Please update the ftp username and ftp password.

Meanwhile, if you can login to your ftp, please make sure that Envira Gallery is installed. You can check it in the plugins folder.

Please let us know how it goes.

Sorry about that @RueNel!

I’ve updated my secure note above with the correct ftp username and password.
Could you try again?

Thanks!
Kai

Unfortunately, the login to FTP failed again. The problem seems to be the FTP server Address. YOu added Hostgator, that is not the FTP Server Address, kindly contact the Hostgator and get the correct URL.

Meanwhile, as you can see from the new error it points to Envira_Gallery_Widget go to the plugins folder and rename whatever folder you see that has the envira on it.

Please kindly consider that there seems to be a major problem on your installation which is not related to our theme or how it is used. This is an installation problem which you need to make sure you get help from a specialist.

Thank you for your understanding.

I now have a new error - Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home4/kkuroda27/public_html/wp-content/themes/x/functions.php:9) in /home4/kkuroda27/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1210

Sorry about the FTP issue. I really do appreciate the help so far.
I’ll attach a secure note here with the FTP Details.

Hi,

The file was corrupted, I went ahead and fix it.

Kindly check in your end.

Thanks

Thanks so much @paul.r!
Now there’s a new error when I access kaikuroda.com/wp-admin.

Here it is -> Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘begin’ (T_STRING) in /home4/kkuroda27/public_html/wp-content/themes/x/framework/tco/tco.php on line 1

Any thoughts?

Thanks! -Kai

Hi Kai,

It seems all your files are corrupted, I went ahead and re-uploaded wordpress and xtheme.

Thanks

@paul.r thank you so so much! It seems to be working fine now.

For future purposes, could you tell me how you re-uploaded wordpress and xtheme?

Thanks -Kai

Hi Kai,

I just downloaded a fresh copy of the theme and wordpress then upload it via FTP using filezilla.

I Overwrite all the files as most of the files if not all are corrupted.

Thanks

I see. How did you know the files were corrupted?

Hi There,

These errors are throwing usually when your files or database corrupted. Check the following guide to repair your WordPress installation (https://www.elegantthemes.com/blog/tips-tricks/how-to-fix-corrupted-files-and-databases-in-wordpress). Also you can use a tool like KDiff3 to compare your files with original WordPress core.

To update WordPress core files, you can use the following guide (https://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress_-_Extended_Instructions).

Hope that helps.

Awesome, thank you!

We are delighted to assist you with this.

Cheers!
