W3 Total Cache Creates Insecure Errors

All of the pages were secured but when I activate W3 Total Cache (for page & browser) I’m getting insecure error messages and the page is no longer secured. If I deactivate W3 no errors and page is secured.

Below are the 2 error messages I’m seeing on whynopadlock.com. I’m using W3 Total Cache on another X site without issues so I believe this is a configurable issue but I can’t figure out what to change.

What do you recommend I do to resolve these issues? Thanks!

Mixed Content - Errors
Hard Failure
A style-sheet with an insecure url of “http://www.domainname.com/wp-content/plugins/LayerSlider/static/layerslider/skins/v6/skin.css” was loaded via the javascript file: https://www.domainname.com/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js?ver=1.12.4 on line 2. The insecure URL may not be directly contained in the script file and may exist elsewhere.
You may need to contact your web hosting provider for assistance. This URL will need to be updated to use a secure URL for your padlock to return.

Soft Failure
An image with an insecure url of “http://www.domainname.com/wp-content/plugins/LayerSlider/static/layerslider/skins/v6/nothumb.png” was loaded, via a CSS file. You may need to contact your web hosting provider for assistance. This URL will need to be updated to use a secure URL for your padlock to return.

Hi @rbelknap,

Thanks for reaching out.

As the plugin does, it still probably serving the cache copy of the page which still uses those old URLs. I recommend contact W3 Total Cache author if it’s something can be fixed since it works without it.

Thanks!

Update…I’m getting these errors even with W3 deactivated. I need help getting this resolved. Please advise how to resolve this issue. Thanks!

This is interesting. This was happening on just the home page, not on any other pages with a slider. So, I went into the home page slider, removed and added back the same image, saved the slider. I did this for each slide in the slider. Now I’m getting the padlock, even with W3 activated.

Why would I have to remove and add each image back in order to fix this issue?

Hi @rbelknap,

Deactivate that plugin isn’t enough, please completely uninstall the W3 Total Cache plugin:
