Vulnerable Layer Slider WP Plugin packed with X theme - cannot update

Hello,
The Layer Slider WP plugin packed with the X theme has a known vulnerability. I am unable to update it as it came with the X theme.

The Plugin “LayerSlider WP” needs an upgrade (6.9.2 -> 7.1.4).

I try to update the plugin and it says updated, but the version remains at 6.9.2 no matter what.
This is happening on multiple sites using the theme, and we are running theme v9.1.4.

As this is a known vulnerability, could you update the theme with the updated/patched plugin included?

This is not a known vulnerability but I will add this to our issue tracker so that our development team will update the bundled Layer Slider to the latest version.
